Ceremony

Our Wedding

The ceremony will begin at 5 pm at the Amphitheater. The weather can get warm this time of year so please plan accordingly

Below is a map showing where the ceremony site is compared to the guest parking lot. Please walk in the front door of the lodge and walk past the fireplace to the back door. From there, you'll follow the path to the right to the Amphitheatre.

Cocktail Hour

We will follow the ceremony with a cocktail hour on the Sundial Lawn overlooking the beautiful Columbia River Gorge

Reception

We will then move the party indoors to the Stevenson Ballroom for dinner and dancing!

Inclement Weather

In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held indoors in the Stevenson Ballroom. The cocktail hour will be held inside of the lodge as well.

Our Story

I would say that I've never had a sister, but Corie's been in my life since I was 12 years old! She helped me pick my 8th grade formal dress and now wedding dress. I'm so fortunate that my brother picked a wonderful person to be my sister-in-law!

Corie Grove

The first friend I ever had! Nicholas is the best big brother I could ask for, and has been showing me the ropes since 1999. We went to the same school from Pre-K throughout college at Oregon State University (Go Beavs!). I can't wait to have him by my side on the big day!

Grace was one of the first people I met in the Jones family! She was so welcoming and I'm so excited that my friend gets to be my sister-in-law!

I met Ryan when I flew out with Ellie to Pennsylvania after 4 months of dating. He was very welcoming when I first met her family and I've been lucky enough to become friends with him since. Now he beats me weekly in Words with Friends and Chess matches!

Have you ever met a person and just knew you wanted to be great friends with them? That's how it was with Delana and lucky for me, her husband and my future husband are best friends!

Burke and I met when I was in 3rd grade when our moms carpooled and drove our big brothers (Nicholas and EJ) to outdoor school camp for the week. Ever since that 1 hour car ride, we've been best friends. Ellie always jokes that she is the "3rd wheel" in our relationship.

Kim and I met back in 2003 in Girl Scouts. Fast forward 8 years later and Kim stopped me in the hallway of our middle school and said "I think our siblings are dating" and we've been close friends ever since! She's also a fellow Hokie!

I've known EJ for 18 years! He's one of the funniest and most genuine guys I know. I always know I'll get a good laugh and have a great time when EJ is around.

From Portland International Airport

Skamania Lodge is located 45 mins from PDX. While Ubers will take you there, we recommend renting a car so you can explore the Columbia River Gorge. We recommend taking I-84 E and crossing the Bridge of the Gods into Washington as it has less turns. If you want to avoid the $3 toll on Bridge of the Gods, you can take 205 to SR-14 on the Washington side of the Gorge.

Hotel Accommodations

Stay at the venue for convenience following the reception. The lodge offers many perks for guests, including access to ziplines, golf, the spa, axe throwing, and hiking trails. Please use the group code 1z05a5 for booking to receive a discount! *Please note the lodge does have a 2 night minimum and may book up quickly

Right across the river on the Oregon side, this offers another close option to Skamania Lodge. Best Western does not have a minimum night stay.

30 mins east from Skamania Lodge is Hood River, which has plenty of other hotel options

Travel

Skamania Lodge offers many activities for those staying there, including a zip-line course, disc golf course, a 9 hole golf course, walking trails, axe throwing, aerial ropes course, and e-bike rentals

Waterfalls/Hiking

The Columbia River Gorge area has almost 100 waterfalls! Some of our favorites include: Multnomah Falls, Horsetail and Pony Falls, and Wahkeena Falls. June is a great time to view all of the wildflowers!

The Fruit Loop

On the Oregon side of the Gorge, the Hood River Valley is known for 14,500 acres of fruit trees and wineries! A 35 mile loop was created to visit some of the highlights. Our favorites are: The Gorge White House (great ciders!), Stave and Stone Winery and Lavender Farms, and Draper Girls Country Farm. Hood River

30 mins east on the Oregon side is Hood River, the wind surfing capital of the world! On a nice day, you can see wind surfers. Hood River also has great food and drink options. One of our go-to spots is Full Sail Brewing! Sit on their patio to get a view of the water while you eat their salmon fish and chips!

Mount Hood

If you have a car and are willing to drive, Mount Hood is about 1.5 hours away. Timberline Lodge has a wonderful view from the top! Some of our favorite hikes are: Mirror Lake, Tom/Dick/Harry, and Lolo Pass (shown below).

Williamette Valley Wineries

If you're planning on making a trip while out here, we recommend checking out wine country. There are 700 wineries in the Williamette Valley! Check out some of them here. Some of our favorites are: Williamette Valley Vineyards (where we got engaged!), Colene Clemens, and Durant.

Portland

Portland is a very foodie town and known for their food truck pods and craft beer. Some of our favorite restaurants and breweries downtown are Eem, Ken's Artisan Pizza, Matador, Matt's Barbecue, Deschutes Brewery, and 10 Barrel Brewery. NW Portland is our favorite part. NW 23rd Street is a great area to stroll and shop! The Washington Park area, including the Oregon Zoo, International Rose Test Garden, and Japanese Gardens, is also super fun!
